Twas the night before Christmas
and the furnace went out;
Silent night was shattered by cursing and shouts,
“The bank account’s empty-the house is so cold,
It’s not worth repairing-it’s so dog-gone old”
“The credit card’s maxed out with holiday cheer,
Take the stockings from the mantle, it’s freezing in here,
When out on the driveway there arose such a clatter,
A service van loaded with tools; topped by a ladder.
Out of the van came a repairman so jolly,
With a trusty new furnace atop of his dolly.
He began installation without any delay,
“Wait a minute sir; we have no way to pay!”
“No worries at all; just sign here, here, and here,
You’ll be warm this Christmas and many New Years!
He was done in a jiffy, the house felt much better,
“You’ll have comfort and savings,
no matter the weather!”
“No payments or interest for six months or more”,
he was heard to exclaim as he went out the door.
He pulled up his pants and pushed back his hair,
“I’ll be back in the spring to check on your air!”
He was heard to exclaim as he drove out of sight,
“One more satisfied customer on a cold winter’s night!”
Recently, we sent out our company Christmas card to our family of customers. We are grateful for the great many of you that have called or stopped us in stores, on the street, or in church to thank us and let us know how much you appreciated our Christmas message. We thank you for taking the time to stop and read it.
It was a reminder that spoke to us about taking pause this time of year to say a little prayer for others. It meant a lot to us and we enjoyed the chance to share.
There is a lot of talk this year about the political correctness of wishing someone a “Merry Christmas”.
Some say that it could be offensive to people whose religious beliefs don’t involve Jesus Christ. Most non-Christians would never be offended, but the are those who’d like to take the religious undertones of Christmas out of even the simplest of greetings. Some would prefer that we use a generic greeting like, “Happy Holidays” so as not to offend people that don’t believe in Christmas. We would never offend anyone on purpose. With that said, Here at Quality Service we wish you and your family a joyful “Merry Christmas!” Thanks to all our customers for making this one more great year of serving you. Be with us in prayer for all our troops in far away lands that they may be safe and home as soon as possible. We hope you have the “Warmest” Christmas and happiest New Year ever! Regardless of anyone’s beliefs, the holidays are a time for being with those you love and thinking of the ones you can’t be with. Besides, it’s okay to just wish someone “Happy Holidays!” The origin of that saying comes from “Holy Days” anyway! So, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from Quality Service to you. Oh, yeah! Change your filters!
With the New Year coming soon, rather than to answer questions like usual we want to use this space to thank all of you who read this column every week. It is here to help provide information to you that will help in every day usage and decisions concerning your home comfort system and indoor air quality. It is our hope that the questions we answer will not only help educate the person that asks; but many other homeowners that are in the same situation as well. We appreciate it the fact that people will stop us at the store or at church and ask us a follow-up question to something they read here or hear on our radio show on WTRB. It is a public service we are more than happy to provide. And, if you choose us to do some work you need done or to replace a home comfort system, naturally, that’s great, too!
2005 has been a wonderful year for us here at Quality Service, Inc., and for that we thank our family of customers. We hope anything you may learn from our newsletters, the radio show and this column will help save you money through maintenance or energy conservation. The ultimate goal is peace of mind when it comes to HVAC. As 2006 approaches, we again renew our commitment to serve our customers in a professional manner with integrity and honesty. We want our customers to share with others their experience with Quality Service in a positive light.
